David P. Dickson, O.D.
Dr. David P. Dickson founded Professional Eye Care Associates, Inc. in 1976. With more than 35 years of experience, he specializes in family eye care, refractive surgery consultation, specialty contact lens fitting, and treatment of eye diseases.
Prior to founding PECA, Dr. Dickson was an associate at an ophthalmology practice in Columbus. He also has been a leader in organized optometry, serving on the executive board of the Ohio Optometric Association for seven years prior to being elected as the association’s state president. Through his leadership and participation on numerous state and national committees, Dr. Dickson helped improve eye care delivery in Ohio, and improved state standards for service in the field. He has also participated in in numerous contact lens and solution clinical trials, and has taught at The Ohio State University College of Optometry’s disease evaluation clinic for 11 years.
Dr. Dickson is a 1976 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and completed his undergraduate work at Wittenberg University and Ohio University. He was a clinical faculty member with The Ohio State University College of Optometry as well as adjunct faculty to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and the Southern College of Optometry.
Robert F. Koerner, O.D.
Dr. Robert F. Koerner joined Professional Eye Care Associates, Inc. in 1994. In addition to primary eye care, his specialties include refractive surgery consultation; treatment of eye diseases; and fitting of specialty contact lenses, including bifocal, toric, keratoconic and prosthetic contact lenses.
Previously, Dr. Koerner worked at Northwest Eye Surgeons in Columbus. He also previously served as clinical director of the Stowe Vision Clinic, providing free eye glasses and exams to people in need. He is currently a member of the Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Koerner is a 1992 graduate of The Ohio State School of Optometry. His received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University with an emphasis in chemistry.
J. Erin Shewring, O.D.
Dr. J. Erin Shewring is a 2005 Magna Cum Laude graduate from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She completed her undergraduate studies at Ohio State, where she studied pre-optometry.
Prior to joining Professional Eye Care Associates, Inc. in 2006, Dr. Shewring completed a residency program in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the Veterans Administration in Columbus and Chillicothe. There she served as an editor of the publication, Clinical Pearls for Optometry.
Dr. Shewring is a member of the American Optometry Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. Her primary focus is the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases with additional specialties in low vision, contact lenses, refractive surgery and family eye care. She is also a provider for InfantSEE, a public health program for infants that includes a no-cost comprehensive vision and ocular health assessment for children six months to one-year old. She enjoys providing vision services to infants and children of all ages.
Jessica E. Lybarger, O.D.
Dr. Jessica E. Lybarger received her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences in 2010 from The Ohio State University. She then completed her doctorate from Ohio State’s College of Optometry and has been with PECA full-time since 2015. Dr. Lybarger’s training includes terms studying ocular disease at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio as well as refractive and cataract co-management in Lexington, KY and Columbus.
Dr. Lybarger specializes in family eye care, ocular disease, contact lenses, and surgery co-management. She is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and is an Infant See provider.
